Margaret Ford is a landscape painter from Portland, Maine. Margaret graduated from Hiram College with a major in Art. She has continued to develop her painting style through the continuing studies programs at Maine College of Art. Margaret paints primarily with oil and prefers to paint on location whenever possible.
“I love painting the landscape and am interested in how light and color define the mood and impact of a setting. Choosing to paint on location helps provide a sense of immediacy in each painting, which is difficult to achieve working in a studio. My hope is to create work that is representational, yet allows the visual exploration between elements of shape, color, texture and value.”
